About
Hey! My names John and I’m a first year Medical student at Flinders University. I graduated high school from Brisbane Boys College in 2018 with an OP1 (99+ ATAR equivalent), studying Maths Methods, English, Biology, Chemistry and Film. My undergraduate degree was in Exercise and Nutrition Science at The University of Queensland where I averaged a 6.75 GPA and was highly interested in the fields of anatomy, physiology, molecular biology and organic chemistry.
I have been tutoring high school students one-on-one for 4 years and in that time have helped numerous students improve their grades dramatically. I was also previously employed as a tutor for anatomy and physiology at the University of Queensland, assisting whole classes of university students.
I have a passion for teaching am most specialised in the following high school areas:
Years 7-10: Maths, English and Science
Years 11 and 12: English, General Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Film
To those interested in pursuing Medicine, I'm also able to help plan and guide you through what's ahead. I’m also able to help with UCAT and GAMSAT study, as well as medicine interview preparation.
Personally, I believe that the most important part of tutoring is the relationship you build. In my experience, this not only allows learning to occur more fluidly and successfully, but it also makes being tutored actually enjoyable!
I also believe that academics isn't the be all and end all of a students life. Balance is absolutely necessary and I like to think that I can provide some guidance in that regard having previously been a national level swimmer.
Enough about my situation though! I want to hear about yours! Please feel free to contact me anytime and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
