Hi! My name is Valeria Golosov and I am a recent graduate from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Finance majoring in Capital Markets and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Statistics and minoring in Maths.

I have over 4 years of tutoring experience and have tutored over 15 students (aged 6 to 16) during that time in a variety of subjects including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and English.

My main aim as a tutor is to foster a positive and patient learning environment during my lessons. I know what it is like to have tutors and teachers put me down during lessons and make me feel bad for struggling and I strive to be the complete opposite of that as a tutor as a result. I believe it is my job to raise a student's confidence in not only a particular subject, but in learning as well.

My work as a tutor includes:
- Preparing objectives and outlines for lessons by working closely with parents and students to identify weak areas and following the curriculum requirements of the school or exam.
- Routinely keeping notes and analysing the students’ progression to understand whether previously outlined short - term and long - term objectives are being met.
- Adapting the method of instruction to fit the learning needs of the student and build a positive learning environment.

My achievements with regards to tutoring have been:
- Helping to admit one student into his first-choice secondary school by preparing him for the entrance exams. This school valued a high grade in the Maths exam, hence why I was hired.
- Helping to admit one student into the Top Maths group in her secondary school after previously struggling with Maths in her primary school. She was even recently invited to attend a gifted maths program at Kings College London.

Recently obtained a Double Degree from the Australian National University (Feb 2016 - July 2020) with a Bachelor of Finance majoring in Capital Markets and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Statistics and minoring in Maths.
I completed my high school education in the UK, hence I don't have an ATAR mark.
