Hi! I am a current English Language (VCE) high school teacher, and experienced tutor of over 9 years.
**Please note- I only teach English Language, NOT Mainstream English or EAL in VCE**
In 2025, I plan to take on only 2 students for private tutoring in English Language.
I have a Bachelors from Melbourne Uni in linguistics, history and French, Masters of Arts and Masters of Teaching. I hold current VTA registration, entailing police checks.
I have tutored and taught a wide range of students, from those who feel behind and unconfident to students wanting extension and to achieve a 40+ study score. I have taught in public, prestigious private and specialist schools.
I love linguistics and the subject of English Language, and I believe I can instil a similar passion in my students. My goal is to foster a love of learning about language and encourage students to see it is a valuable tool for their futures, no matter their pathway. I endeavour to make my students' studies as stress-free and enjoyable as possible while they see significant progress and results of which they can be proud- regardless of their starting point.
I have a very large range of resources available and strategies I use due to my length of experience as both a teacher and tutor. All tutoring students will have access to these resources, including practice SACs, practice texts, extensive scaffolding and guidelines. I am always happy to read over, mark and provide feedback for practice SACs and exams. My marking data over the years has consistently demonstrated I mark extremely accurately to how examiners mark.
All lessons are 1 hour.
Online tutoring: $120
In person, at your house or local library in reasonably local distance to Hawthorn (during school term) or Williamstown: $150 (any time)
