About
I am in my final Semester of a Master of TESOL (Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages) at Monash University. I have a strong interest in teaching and tutoring, where I hope to put my interests and learning into practice.
Your team of tutors and teachers of particular interest to me. From my research I am aware of the organization’s emphasis on working creatively and passionately as a team in helping students improve their confidence in learning and their overall skills. This philosophy engenders trust and long term relationships between tutors and students, and also would allow me to apply the communication, teamwork and problem solving skills I have developed through both my studies and volunteer experience.
In my current role as a volunteer tutor in Dixon house Homework club, assist primary and secondary students in their school works and providing them feedback for further improvements, and in my previous role as a volunteer teacher in Asylum Seeker welcome center, Melbourne, I conducted structured English language program for adult English language learners. These activities have developed my skills in organizing and taking responsibility for managing an activity program, leadership skills, teamwork abilities with both adults and children.
