Tutoring near Macquarie Park, Sydney, NSW & Chatswood, Sydney, NSW

Hi there! My name is Marilla and I completed my HSC in 2017, achieving an ATAR of 96.45. Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at Macquarie University.

As a passionate, dedicated tutor with 3 years of experience, I would love to help you or your child improve their marks, learn valuable study skills and manage their workload efficiently and effectively.

I understand the stresses and anxieties of high school amidst its busy and demanding requirements of students. As a tutor, I strongly believe that my role is to give advice and support to the student in developing and refining their confidence and skills in a fun, relaxed, engaging environment as they approach the HSC. I go beyond re-teaching content, rather I communicate and emphasize NESA's expectations. Achieving high results in the HSC requires consolidation of hard work, passion, commitment, pragmatism, and support. I’m ready to help with exam techniques, upcoming assessments, essay-writing skills such as structure and argument, time management, building confidence in weaker, more challenging subjects and focusing on difficult concepts.

• I have concrete knowledge and experience with the new NESA syllabus.
• Provide continuous feedback
• Happy to be contacted outside of lessons via text and email.
• Very resourceful.
• Adapt to your learning needs.

I am more than happy to take on more than one student at a time if students have friends that would like to be tutored alongside.

I charge:
Individual tuition $40-$50/h
Group tuition $30/h each

I consistently achieved high results in all my subjects.

Marilla is an excellent tutor. She assisted my son in English writing to prepare for Year 3 NAPLAN. His result was above Band 6, which was well above the expected level of achievement for Year 3 students. We could not believe it ! He would not have got this result without Marilla. Thank you very much !

Marilla tutored me both in groups and individually through my year 11 and 12 studies. She helped in in a variety of subjects including Year 11 Chemistry, Year 12 Chemistry, Year 11 Mathematics, Year 12 Standard Mathematics, Year 11 Extension English, Year 11 Advanced English and Year 12 Advanced English. I found her tutoring extremely helpful and invaluable to my HSC performance. She is extremely reliable, flexible and hardworking. She has great communication throughout the week leading up to our sessions, ensuring she could tailor her tutoring session to the aspects of the course I needed to work on, or was working on at school. Her resources are extensive and extremely helpful, and her teaching style is fun, engaging and ultimately effective. Marilla is an amazing tutor and I would recommend her to anyone seeking a qualified, hardworking, engaging mentor in their studies.
