Hello! I’m a 2019 Presbyterian Ladies' College Sydney graduate who loves to see students grow and flourish throughout their learning journey. I am studying a Doctor of Medicine at Western Sydney University. I specialise in Chemistry, English and Mathematics tuition, as well as science competitions (such as ICAS, ANCQ, Brain Bee, Olympiad, etc.).

As a previous First Year Representative, Publications captain, prefect, peer support leader and debater, I am a friendly, clear communicator who thoroughly understands the ins and outs of high school. Over three years, I have 1000+ hours of experience tutoring a diverse range and age of high school students - ranging from selective to non-selective to private, and from year seven to year twelve.

I have written a HSC English textbook (Hag-Seed Text Guide), planned and written course materials (lesson slides, worksheets, examinations and marking criteria) for the ATAR Notes tutoring program in Chemistry and Physics, and have also written and delivered lectures on a national ('The Tempest' lecture) and state-wide (Chemistry, Physics and UCAT lectures) scale.

One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing a student become genuinely inspired, motivated and confident in their abilities. Successful tutoring is not just about good teaching and challenging one's comfort zone, it is also about fostering a safe and encouraging environment where one can freely ask any questions and explore their interests. That is why I leave my email and messages open for my students in case they have any questions throughout the week.

I have achieved many high distinctions in science competitions (from Australian Science Olympiads, ICAS, ANCQ, Brain Bee etc.), and in my school was ranked first in two subjects and top five in four subjects - if you would like to see my detailed resume, please feel free to message me!

I have extra resources to supplement your learning, and can provide personalised homework. I also conduct small group sessions, as I’m aware everybody has different learning styles and preferences.

I typically tutor at the Rouse Hill, Castle Hill and Western Sydney University (Parramatta/Campbelltown) libraries.

I also offer one-off sessions if there is a particular competition or assessment you would like to prepare for.

Additionally, I can mark and provide detailed feedback for your essays and tasks. I am also happy to write in depth explanations for any questions you may have. (please message me for task-specific rates.)

If you are interested, or have any queries, please feel free to message me!

Reviews

Grace is a very open-minded and friendly tutor who goes above and beyond just tutoring and ensuring confidence and trust within her students' skills, at least for me. As an English tutor, she understood that I had trouble solidifying writing skills and took whatever steps necessary to improve what I was most comfortable with, as with thematic and concept discussions on several texts. Her feedback is constructive and very helpful, not too critical that it dampens confidence, but helpful enough to make large steps to making a better essay. I think it's best to say that after asking for her help, my English skills improved dramatically between the Trials and the HSC Examinations.

Grace was amazing as a mentor and tutor, and managed in only 10 sessions to increase my daughters chemistry mark from 25 to 68, which was amazing.... even more impressive Sophie enjoyed the sessions and found Grace very likeable and easy to connect with. Thanks Grace, great job!!

Grace was an amazing, friendly tutor who with our sessions not only helped me regain my interest in chemistry but also pushed me to do questions I never thought I was capable of. My marks went up by over 40% in just a couple of months and I can’t thank her enough!

Grace is an friendly, knowledgeable tutor with excellent communication skills. She has tutored me throughout 2020 in multiple subjects. During this time, Grace has helped me achieve over ninety percent in my maths, chemistry and physics assignments. She has given me many study techniques and resources. Before I came to Grace I found science difficult and hard to comprehend, but after being tutored, I am now interested in a career in health science.

Grace was extremely helpful in providing feedback on HSC English answering techniques. She helped me understand how long/short I should write and also provided great insight to the questions she helped me with.

Grace has coached me in English for a while now, mainly focusing on writing. She has encouraged me to bring up my own ideas and has also constantly been teaching new techniques. She is very responsible and initiative :)

Grace gave couple of classes for my daughter just before the exam. She reviewed the extended response and gave her some recommendations. Grace was responsive and had a quick turnaround for a last minute request I made. Thank you.
