Hi there, I'm Sophie. I am an experienced tutor with 5+ years experience, offering tutoring for VCE Maths Methods. I graduated in 2016 from Balwyn High School with an ATAR of 99.30, attaining raw scores of 48 in Methods and 42 in Specialist Maths. As a tutor, I believe that understanding concepts and knowing how to apply them in unfamiliar contexts are important skills which we will focus on developing during lessons. In addition, while the textbook is a great resource, I recognise that often it can alienate students due to the sheer amount of information it presents and hence, I always do my best to break things down and explain things in a more clear way so that it is easier to digest and therefore remember. By clarifying the bits that students find difficult to work out on their own, I strive to provide the support that students may need to boost their interest in maths and their confidence in their mathematical capability.
